The Workhouse Museum project: Ghosts from the Wilderness

In March I am due to exhibit a series of drawings at the Workhouse museum in Southwell near Nottingham
From March 15th - 28th The Workhouse and National Trust will be housing a series of drawings title "Ghosts from the wilderness". The supporting series of images shows the work in progress at my studio at the Southwell Artspace.
Please comment on the development of the work. These drawings show a range of reflections of journeys taken through the rural countryside - experiences whilst running, walks and surprises round corners and on the crests of hills.
The drawings are from the lead mines in Gunnerside in North Yorkshire, running in North Yorkshire, and visions of the slate mines in Wales.

The Legs that made us: Drawing the Pennine Way

During December 2007 my drawings were exhibited alongside the work of other artists who collaborated with
Simone Kenyon and Tamara Ashley on the " Legs that made us " project. Collaborating artists also including Jo Brown, Laura Pederson and Pete Evans showcased their work at the Dance City in November and December.

Here are the examples of the work shown which I made during the walk from Slaggyford in the North Pennines in Northumbria to Greenhead, and Bellingham to Once Brewed.

Jerwood Drawing Prize 2007

The Jerwood Drawing Prize exhibition is now showing at Glasgow School of Art, Mackintosh Gallery and then moves on to the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol. It's a great show with some beautiful work, with some particularly great pieces by Irene Lees, Paul Westcombe, Stuart Parkinson and Jane Millican.

This is my shortlisted piece which is of a disused slate mine in Blanneau Ffestiniog, and depicts a metaphorical ghost of what once was represented by the mist encroaching upon the disused mine shaft drawn in 2006. The rest of the series of drawings will be shown at the Workhouse Museum in Southwell in Nottinghamshire in March 2008, two of which are currently on show at the Artspace in Southwell Nottinghamshire.
